Canonical Coset Parameterization and the Bures Metric of the Three-level Quantum Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
An explicit parameterization for the state space of an n-level density matrix is given. The parameterization is based on the canonical coset decomposition of unitary matrices. We also compute, explicitly, the Bures metric tensor over the state space of twoand three-level quantum systems.

An Explicit Computation of the Bures Metric Over the Space of N -Dimensional Density Matrices
The aim of this paper is to provide a method for explicit computation of the Bures metric over the space of N-level quantum system, based on the coset parametrization of density matrices.
متن کاملA Pedagogical Intrinsic Approach to Relative Entropies as Potential Functions of Quantum Metrics: the q-z Family
q-z-relative entropies provide a huge two parameters family of relative entropies which include almost all known relative entropies for suitable values of the parameters. In this paper we use these relative entropies as generalized potential functions to generate metrics on the space of quantum states. We further investigate possible ranges for the parameters q and z which allow to recover know...
متن کاملFidelity and Metrics of quantum states
Fidelity plays an important role in quantum information theory. In this paper, two pairs of metrics of quantum states are introduced based on the Uhlmann-Jozsa fidelity and super-fidelity. They are proved to satisfy the axioms of metrics and return to the Sine metric and Bures metric for the qubit case. The CP expansive property and convex property of the metrics are studied. These metrics have...
متن کاملBures Metrics for Certain High-Dimensional Quantum Systems
Hübner’s formula for the Bures (statistical distance) metric is applied to both a one-parameter and a two-parameter series (n = 2, . . . , 7) of sets of 2 × 2 density matrices. In the doublyparameterized series, the sets are comprised of the n-fold tensor products — corresponding to n independent, identical quantum systems — of the 2 × 2 density matrices with real entries. The Gaussian curvatur...
متن کاملTransition Probability (Fidelity) and its Relatives
Transition Probability (fidelity) for pairs of density operators can be defined as a “functor” in the hierarchy of “all” quantum systems and also within any quantum system. The Introduction of “amplitudes” for density operators allows for a more intuitive treatment of these quantities, also pointing to a natural parallel transport. The latter is governed by a remarkable gauge theory with strong...
